|
The fee for the Confirmation Program is $65.00 per student. The fee covers the cost of materials used during the Confirmation Preparation Sessions along with costs associated with the Confirmation Ceremony.
The fee should be paid in full by November 4, 2009. Checks may be made out to St. Celestine Religious Education. Thank you for your cooperation regarding the confirmation fee.
If your child has attended St. Celestine School or St. Celestine Religious Education we should have a copy of his/her Baptismal Certificate. If your child’s Baptismal Certificate is not on file you will have to get one. We will let you know who needs a certificate. Call Julie McGuire, CRE at 708-453-2555 or julie@stcelestineparish.org to verify. |
Confirmation Question Search - May 5, 2010 |
|
Press to Open / Print this Question Search in Adobe Reader (pdf - 37 KB)
The following questions must be answered by May 5, 2010
(I prefer to have your answers typed out)
You will not be able to answer these questions from your own knowledge; that is why it is called a “SEARCH”. You may need to talk to your sponsor, to a teacher at school, your parents or to someone at St. Celestine. You might find some of the answers at the library, in a religion textbook or at the website for the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Don’t wait until the last minute to do this project. There have been changes made to it from last year and the year before, so do not attempt to copy answers from former students.
Feel free to bring this with you to each session so your facilitator can check on your progress. Good Luck!!

The Confirmation Service Projects provides you with an opportunity to do what every adult Christian is called to do: give themselves freely in service to others.
General suggestions are listed below. You are not limited to these. You are encouraged to use your imagination and to become aware of the needs of your faith community and the community in which you live.
Work on this immediately, do not wait until the last minute.
Requirements of the project:
-
Three different kinds of direct service to the St. Celestine Parish Community, to the community in which you live or the community in which you attend school.
-
No money or other form of reward may be accepted for your service.
-
At least 3 different projects must be undertaken to reach the service project requirements. One of your projects must be done with your sponsor.
-
The certification form must be filled out completely and signed by an adult who supervised the project.
Possible project options:
-
A variety of parish social functions are held throughout the year. Service hours can be performed in a variety of areas. Join with the Teen Group. They provide a variety of service projects.
-
A variety of clean-up projects take place throughout the year in our parish and community. Your confirmation facilitator will sometimes alert you to a specific service project, pay attention, they are here to help you.
-
Grass cutting, yard work, housework, or preparing meals for the elderly who are not related to you.
-
Check with your small group adult facilitator or Julie McGuire before you undertake a project to avoid the possibility of the project being disallowed. Babysitting or working in someone’s business is not allowed as part of the service project. You cannot be paid for your work.
Sponsor Involvement:
-
You are expected to meet with your sponsor on a regular basis over the next year. A minimum of three meetings is required. We are asking your sponsor to participate in at least one of your service projects. Your sponsor can help you by discussing all aspects of your Preparation for Confirmation.
