Trip to Our Lady of the Snows and Saint Louis - June 12-13, 2007

The trip with Fr. Larry and other parishioners departed on Tuesday morning, June 12 and returned on Wednesday evening, June 13. Our journey took us to the Shrine of OUr Lady of the Snows, to both of the Cathedrals in Saint Louis and to the Shrine of Saint Joseph. The Shrine of Saint Joseph is the site of the only authenticated miracle in the Midwest. The Shrine's beautiful altar has become known as the Altar of Answered Prayers and people often tuck pieces of paper with prayers written on them into crevices on the altar in the hopes they will be answered. We celebrated masses on both days. While in Saint Louis we also visited Grant's Farm. Grant's Farm is a 281-acre ancestral home of the Busch family. We took a tram ride through the park, and have leisure time to look at all of the points of interest. This is home to the beautiful Clydesdale Horses. We also headed through Springfield and visited the new Lincoln Library.
